For the past few days I have been panicking and rushing around the office trying to accumulate ideas on what my first blog post should be about. The first one is pretty important! I just couldn't figure out how to get my creative juices flowing. So yesterday I took a little adventure down to our shop in the hope that some inspiration would give me a light bulb moment. Unfortunately my mind still came up blank, as exciting as it was to surround myself with glorious fresh flowers I still couldn't find a good enough idea. So I grabbed myself some pink Peonies, had then wrapped by one of our florists and went on my way. Reflecting on my experience I noticed how happy I was with my little bunch of flowers that I had planned to put in a vase and stick on my dining table. There was no doubt about it, those flowers had made me happy. Cheered me up and put me in a cheery mood, I was excited to get them home and freshen up my house. Finally, a good idea for blog post had developed!

When I got back to my desk, I did a little research on how flowers can effect a person’s emotional state. Little did I know, it’s a thing! There are studies that show that flowers are linked to the immediate happiness of a person, stress relief and can ease depression and anxiety symptoms. How great is that? Also by receiving or gifting flowers, a person can improve a relationship with someone because they can help make a better connection, I’d better start ordering some!

Have you ever wondered why bunches of flowers are dotted about when in a social environment? There on desks, shelf's, receptions and entrances, practically everywhere. Flowers are not just a bit of eye candy and a luring scent but they are also good for creating a welcoming ambience among everyone surrounding them. So the more Flowers you have, the happier the people are. Some flowers are also connected with nurturing, romance and tranquillity. Just goes to show that surrounding yourself with flowers has more effects than being just decorative, we should think of them as fragrant visual therapy.

I can totally relate to some of the amazing benefits that flowers can do for us, these incredible pieces of nature can help ease inner troubles, improve a person’s ability to trust, uplift a person’s confidence and self-esteem, regulate emotions such as envy, fear, guilt and jealousy, the list goes on and on! Getting to the point, they’re pretty great.
